Procreate explorers

Have a tablet and want to learn how to create expressive digital paintings using Procreate? This class has you in mind. Join local artist Joe Rice in our craft studio and learn some Procreate basics in this 4 week introductory class. This class is part of a 4 week instructional series. You can register for the entire series here.

In class 2, we’ll learn how to create and alter brushes – focusing on creating interesting patterns to bring depth to your mark making on the digital canvas. We’ll also learn how to create masks that block off areas of your painting allowing you to achieve precision in your paintings. We’ll finish the lesson with some lessons in Notan drawing. Making quick Notan sketches of paintings throughout history to prepare you for a larger assignment in Class 3.

*Students should bring their own iPads equipped with Procreate, a digital stylus such as the Apple Pencil or similar is recommended but not required.
