Caitlin Ross has recently relocated to the area from Seattle. She has an extensive history in both visual art and dance, having studied both at the university level, before eventually graduating with her Bachelor’s in Dance from the University of Washington. During her time at UW, her studies included ballet and contemporary techniques, choreography composition, improvisation, cross-cultural styles, body mechanics, and somatic movement techniques. She also participated in several dance intensives and technique classes at Velocity Dance Center, including Strictly Seattle and the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation. She has performed in works choreographed by artists such as Rachael Lincoln, Bruce McCormick, Shannon Stewart, and Molly Scott. Her teaching experience includes contemporary technique, ballet technique, creative movement, and improvisation.
In the visual arts, Caitlin has experience in many mediums, including drawing, painting, and design. Her primary focus is ceramics, and she spent eight years as a studio apprentice for Paula West, on San Juan Island, Washington. She produces her own line of porcelain tableware under the name Caitlin Ross Ceramics.
