DESCRIPTION:Skills: In Week 1\, students will learn all about “intentional throwing” by throwing a consistent bowl shape with incrementally larger amounts of clay to create a set of Nesting Bowls.  Students will learn about bowl shapes\, using ribs to create shape\, nesting measurements\, and how to use calipers.  In Week 2 students will return to the studio to learn how trimming influences the final bowl shape.  Students will learn how to trim bowls\, measure bowl thickness\, as well as focus on continued maths to help nest the pots.  *This class is a strongly recommended prerequisite to the Big Bowl class that is offered at PCCH.*\n\n\nPrerequisites: Confident Beginner/Intermediate – someone comfortable throwing a minimum of 2lb clay.\n\nVERY LIMITED SEATING!!\nBOOK YOUR WHEEL

DESCRIPTION:BOOK YOUR WHEEL!\nSkills: Come learn an ancient pottery practice that is a great technique for Beginners and Experienced throwers alike.  Students in this class will learn to create repeat pieces in a single sitting as well as some basic throwing skills like compression and moisture considerations.  Hump throwing can also help students explore throwing incrementally larger amounts of clay which are useful skills for future class offerings including Nesting Bowls (November) & Big Bowls (January).  While this class primarily focuses on skill building and not creating a specific piece students are likely to create smaller bowls/cups as they practice this technique in class. \n\nPrerequisites: Great for anyone with some basic wheel experience\, suitable for most beginners all the way to experienced Wheel Throwers who want to hone their repeat shape skills or try throwing in a new way!
