SUMMARY:Beginner Embroidery 1 - evening session
DESCRIPTION:February is International Embroidery Month and we are celebrating all month long here at Pearl City Clay House. Join us for one of our introductory classes\, or at our celebration of stitching meet up at the end of the month. \nThis introduction to hand embroidery workshop will focus on straight stitches executed in lines or grids. It is suitable for complete beginners with no embroidery or sewing experience. If you have always wanted to give embroidery a try\, these basic stitches are a great place to begin. \nDeb\, our program director and sewing aficionado will share her tips and tricks for making a simple sampler. We will start with how to lay out your design\, then learn some simple basic stitches\, along with ways to combine and customize the stitches into more elaborate patterns. \nParticipants will need the following supplies: \n\na 6″ embroidery hoop\na piece of plain cotton (any color is fine) about 8″ square\n2 or 3 skeins of embroidery floss in coordinating colors\na embroidery needle\nsmall scissors\na fabric marking pen\na piece of plastic canvas
