wheel explorer

Join one of the clay team in the studio to explore the art of throwing on the wheel. This short session is a brief introduction to the wheel and will include how to prepare your clay for the wheel, how to center and cone the clay, and how to begin throwing a vessel. Students will follow along with the instructor and the small group size will allow for lots of one on one feedback. At the end of the session participants can select their favorite attempt to preserve. Your instructor will finish your vessel and our team will glaze it and notify you when it is ready to pick up.

Throwing on the wheel can get messy, we recommend you bring an apron, and a non-terry cloth towel/bandana for wiping your hands. It is also much easier to learn how to throw with short fingernails.
