DESCRIPTION:ART Cloth + Craft in collaboration with Pearl City Clay House will be hosting a Shibori Dyeing Pop-Up!\nFolded textiles are found throughout the world. In Japan\, intricately folded or sewn textiles are dipped in Indigo.\nCome try your hand at creating a Shibori T-shirt and experience the magic of watching the indigo dye oxidize from bright yellow/green to the deep beautiful blue. Not only is the process magic\, but indigo fades beautifully over time\, as your favorite blue jeans prove!\nWe will have white cotton shirt kits for children and adults ready with a dyeing station. Deb Eck with her guided expertise will help you choose from different Shibori folding techniques depending on the design you would like\, then in it goes in the dye bath for a few seconds. Once it comes out it will go up briefly on a clothes line\, then placed into a bag with care instructions on how to set the dye at home.\nThis is a fun and family friendly event to do while you are enjoying the Summer Block Party hosted by Reg Lenna Center for the Arts!\nTo reserve your Shibori T-Shirt kit in your preferred size\, we recommend prepaying online by clicking on this link or stop in at ARTCloth + Craft to register.\nPre-ordering will end July 21st. She will share some tips and tricks acquired over a lifetime of mending\, and get you started on the road to a more personal and sustainable wardrobe. \nNo previous sewing skills are needed\, this is a workshop for complete beginners. \nBring along something you’d like to mend\, or just come and play with our fabrics and threads\, supplies are included in the cost of the workshop. We are so excited to partner with other local businesses and organizations to bring art to everyone this summer!! \nOn July 10th\, Deb Eck\, will be at ARTCloth + Craft\, leading a workshop in crafting paper flowers. \nThe two hour class will cover the basics of cutting\, shaping and coloring crepe paper to create a spray of floribunda style roses. While this is a beginner level workshop\, suitable for adults and older teens\, it is a craft that requires manual dexterity and a little patience. \nThe ticket price of just $30 includes all the necessary materials to complete one spray of three roses\, the use of tools and supplies\, along with the cost of tuition which will be divided between Pearl City Clay House and ARTCloth + Craft. \nSpace is limited!
