Slow down and make something with your hands. In this six-week course, you’ll learn the three traditional hand building methods: pinch, coil, and slab. These techniques have shaped functional and decorative pottery for thousands of years, and they require no wheel or previous experience. Each week builds on the last, so by the end you’ll have the skills and confidence to bring your own ideas to life in clay. You’ll work with an experienced, friendly instructor in a relaxed, supportive studio setting. We’ll cover how to prepare and handle clay, join pieces securely, add texture and surface decoration, and finish your work with glaze. All materials are included in the course fee. Class meets from 6-8pm on Jan 19, 26 and Feb 2, 9, 16, 23.
