Pearl City Clay House was created with a simple mission—to make creativity accessible for everyone. We believe that making something with your hands isn’t just about art; it’s about connection, joy, and community.
When our studio opened its doors in 2021 as a program of Infinity Visual and Performing Arts, Inc., we built it with two goals in mind:
• To offer a warm, welcoming space for adults, families, and visitors to explore clay, craft, and contemporary art
• To generate sustainable, earned income that supports Infinity’s youth programming and ensures the arts remain accessible to all

WHY ‘PEARL CITY’?
Our name is a tribute to Jamestown’s past. Lumbering was the first major industry. Industrial production turned local hard woods into pearl ash, which became a major export. As a result, Jamestown became known as the “The Pearl City”. We felt that firing the kiln had a certain kinship with the production of pearl ash, and so we’ve adopted the name Pearl City as a talisman of our sense of place and purpose. At Pearl City Clay House, we honor that spirit with every class, workshop, and walk-in visit.

Whether you’re trying the pottery wheel for the first time or returning to a lifelong passion, our studio is built for connection, not perfection. Classes and workshops are approachable, inclusive, and joy-filled, offering space to experiment, relax, and rediscover yourself through making.
