Whether you’re fascinated by the tactile nature of clay or curious about the rich traditions behind pottery, this workshop will guide you through an exciting creative adventure.
What You’ll Learn:
- Pinch Pots: Begin your clay journey by learning the art of pinch pots. This technique, which dates back thousands of years, allows you to shape clay by pinching and molding. Perfect for creating small, unique pieces, pinch pots are a great introduction to the texture and versatility of clay.
- Coil Building: Discover the ancient technique of coil building, where you roll clay into long, snake-like coils and stack them to form intricate and functional pottery. This method helps develop your skills in hand-building and gives you the freedom to create larger and more complex forms.
- Slab Building: Explore the slab building technique, which involves rolling out flat sheets of clay and assembling them to create geometric and organic shapes. This method is ideal for crafting everything from decorative tiles to functional vessels.

Duration: 4 weeks, class meets twice a week either Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday for 2 hours.
