Explore a unique piece of Chautauqua County history with Pearl City Clay House and the Fluvanna Community Historical Society!
The program begins with a free presentation by regional pottery expert Vince Martonis, featuring historic examples and the story of Fluvanna’s early 1800s pottery industry.
Following the presentation, join in for an optional hands-on pottery workshop inspired by these historic pieces. Participants will create with locally sourced clay from the same area where Chautauqua County’s earliest potters gathered their materials more than 200 years ago.
History Presentation: FREE
Hands-On Pottery Workshop: $25 per project
No clay experience is necessary, and families are welcome to work together on a shared pottery project. All materials, instruction, firing and finishing are included.
