Stumped on what to get the person who has everything this holiday season? How about creating a portrait of their house? Join artist Leslie Calimeri in our beautiful craft studio and learn how to turn a photo into a beautiful pen and ink drawing. Leslie will guide you step by step through the process and we will even provide the frame, so your gift will be all ready to give (or draw your own house and keep it – no judgment here!)

Blackout meditation Early Bird
Try a peaceful start to your holiday season this year with a blackout meditation workshop in our beautiful new community art studios. Skip the holiday crowds (or recover from your early morning shopping) and join our program director Deb to learn this affordable and calming art.
Deb will gently guide you through the relaxing art of blackout meditation. What is that? It’s an art form I invented many decades ago, a mash up of blackout poetry, doodling and occasionally some drawing & coloring.
This session will cover the how-to-get-started basics, along with a few different techniques you can use to take your blackouts to the next level. Absolutely NO prior art experience needed!
All participants will receive a bonus holiday stencil to use in the workshop and take home.

a book you are willing to use to write on/in,
a sharpie or two (I use an ultra fine point and a regular fat sharpie most of the time)
In addition its nice to have – but not essential –
a white gel pen – Posca pens, uniball or jellyroll pens are all great choices
some colored pencils and/or markers
a small set of alphabet stamps & an ink pad
Stencils that fit the size of your book (or smaller)
Session will be recorded for students who cannot join us live.
Blackout meditation get together
If you’ve taken a blackout meditation class with us in this past year join us for a zoom get together. Bring your supplies and any work you’d like to share with the group. We will talk techniques, and share what we are discovering, and then work together. All attendees will get an emailed seasonal stencil to print and cut out along with the zoom link. Join us to get your zen on before summer is gone!
Sign up for your space HERE.
Never taken a class, but curious? Join us at 6:30 for a quick introduction the process with Deb Eck, inventor/instructor, then stay for the great company and enjoy working along with the group. A supply list will be emailed to you, but all you really need is an old book, a pencil and a sharpie.
Sign up to join us HERE for the introduction and to stay for the group session after.
