Is your new year’s resolution to whittle down your fabric stash? Join us for this scrap busting workshop at the brand new studio classroom at Tammarie designs.
Have fabric you just can’t figure out how to use, or little pieces left from other projects? Bring them to class, and maybe mix it up by swapping with other students. We will transform them into a colorful cover for a little journal. Then we will add some simple hand embroidery, before adding some blank pages using some traditional binding techniques. By the end of the workshop you will have a sweet little blank book, the perfect place to keep all your creative thoughts this coming year.

Join our resident paper expert Deb Eck for an introduction to creating botanical contact prints and eco-dyeing on paper and fabric. Deb has been using natural materials and traditional dyeing techniques in her work with paper for many years, and has had the opportunity to learn from some of the world’s best teachers.
We will be working in the backyard at Audubon, and walking the property to collect materials to work with. Come prepared to be outside. We’ll start off with a walk, get our dye pots started, then chat over lunch about techniques and tricks. The day will wrap up with the magic of unbundling our work, and seeing the beauty of nature captured on fabric and paper.
This is an introductory class suitable for beginners.
