Turkey Clay-Daze (Slab Building)

Come be a part of Jamestown’s newest Thanksgiving event at our Pearl City Clay House Turkey Clay-Daze Party!

Get a jump start on your holiday festivities and join our fun, friendly PCCH clay team in our ceramics studio to make a textured platter.

An experienced clay instructor will guide you through using the slab roller to create an even base from which to begin your creation. Experiment with adding texture and cultural elements to make a one-of-a kind platter to grace your holiday table this year. Before you leave you can pick out your glaze color and our PCCH staff will handle the rest. We will email you when your platter is ready to collect.

Working with clay can be messy! We recommend bringing an apron and a small hand towel to wipe off your hands.

PLUS, its party night at Pearl City Clay House, and we will have snacks and non-alcoholic mock-tails in the reception area for all to enjoy!

*To purchase a ticket you must select the number of tickets (use the plus sign on the right of the ticket box) before clicking the get ticket button – thank you!

cushy cookies

On the twelfth day at the Clay House, my true love gave to me, 12 cushy cookies, 11 singing stars, 10 , 9 stellar strings, 8 fluffy frosties, 7 folded flurries, 6 wooly wreaths, 5 button baubles! 4 nordic stars, 3 sparkling snowflakes, 2 festive flowers and a sleepy sloth for my holiday tree!

Why cushy cookies? Because these fluffy wonders use a cookie cutter to get the felting process started. Curious about felting? This is an easy entry level project that will get you hooked on this traditional craft!

There’s an optional kit available in our shop for this course, or you can assemble your own materials from our list if you’ve done some felting before.

Stellar string (stars)

On the ninth day at the Clay House my true love gave to me 9 stellar strings, 8 fluffy Frosties, 7 folded flurries, 6 wooly wreaths, 5 button baubles! 4 nordic stars, 3 sparkling snowflakes, 2 festive flowers, and a sleepy sloth for my holiday tree!

Be warned this is a sloppy, sticky craft! But once you have mastered the basic idea you can turn it into many different forms. If DIY crafting makes you nervous, never fear! Deb can guide you through the process step by step for a polished final result.

A materials list will be sent to all registered participants before the event.

nordic star

On the fourth day at the Clay House my true love gave to me 4 nordic stars, 3 sparkling snowflakes, 2 festive flowers and a sleepy sloth for my holiday tree!

This Swedish advent star is traditionally made of paper or wood, and hangs in the window to bring light to the darkest season of the year, and in memory of the star followed by the wise men. Join Deb in this community class using recycled materials to make a settee light your holidays.

Button Bauble

On the fifth day at the Clay House my true love gave to me, 5 button baubles! 4 Nordic stars, 3 sparkling snowflakes, 2 festive flowers and a sleepy sloth for my holiday tree!

Inspired by Victorian pomanders, this modern take uses buttons and pearl headed pins, along with some ribbon and a few beads. Pick colors to match your holiday decor, or go with a more traditional red and green.

This class has a kit which is available in our online shop or you can assemble your own from the materials list which will be emailed to you after registration.

fluffy frosties

On the eighth day at the Clay House my true love gave to me, 8 fluffy Frosties, 7 folded flurries, 6 wooly wreaths, 5 button baubles! 4 nordic stars, 3 sparkling snowflakes, 2 festive flowers and a sleepy sloth for my holiday tree.

Felting occurs when wool fibers are agitated together with a special felting needle. This is a very easy entry level felting project that can be customized to give your frosty the snowman their own personality.
