block printing

We are so excited to be teaming up with another local creative to bring you this opportunity to create a one of a kind heirloom table runner to add to your holiday table.
We will be joining Tammy of Tammarie Designs in her studio for a special make and take event.
Tammy will share her sewing expertise to help students create a holiday themed table runner. Once sewn Deb will help students add a holiday-themed block print to the runner to complete it. The finished table runner can be further personalized by adding family signatures around the block during your holiday celebrations.

Join our resident teaching artist, Deb Eck, and learn the traditional art of block printing on fabric. Over three sessions, (Friday evening June 4th, plus two sessions on June 5th) students will learn how to safely use the tools needed for linoleum printing, then design and carve their own blocks, before printing them onto fabric. In class we will print our final design onto tea towels, but students are welcome to bring their own fabric items also. The class fee includes all materials, blocks and inks, fabric and paper for test printing, plus tea towels for the final project, along with use of all the tools and equipment.
This will be an IN PERSON class. While we wait on our new location to be finished we will be using the art rooms at Infinity Visual and Performing arts in Jamestown, NY. All local covid regulations will be observed.
Not local or not ready for in-person attendance yet? Join us via zoom instead. Reserve your class spot, then email Deb @ pearlcityclayhouse.org to arrange shipping for your class kit and to discuss the necessary tools.
A three session class – book your ticket in the listing for session 1!
